Coffee please....

magkape tayo!
Somebody dear to me sent me some goodies and one of them is a box of coffee in packets. Since I am a coffee fiend who'll never start the day without sipping freshly brewed coffee...oh I love the whiff of its aroma that perks me up while am in front of the computer still half asleep making my posts.

Holding the empty packet here, and I read...
"Coffee of the light mouth hit withthat balance with no habit can be taken that the tasts roasted newly isleft as it is"

I never change any single letter and I do wonder what the f it means. Well thanks for trying the English language but it is better if they do it right. How much would it cost  them to  hire an English consultant, or one to proofread their label before printing it. Would it costs them an arm and a leg?!

[really can't digest the meaning...but to be fair the aroma  and the taste of the coffee itself is superb!!!]

Or just...anyone wit blue there?
Ah bahala kayo...basta panigurado masarap ang kape... ;-]

Coffee: An Old Time Stimulant!

I myself being a coffee fiend, to keep me awake functionally if I wanted to...consume 2-3 cups a day...the most is four but over and above I think having 5 cups a day is unhealthy to consider. When it comes to coffee you'll have one thing in mind...Starbucks. And if you hear Starbucks, one may have second thought, why because of the cost. I'd rather buy a bag of 12 packets and boil fresh water and make myself an easy one and sit down in front of my tv set and voila! But sometimes it's nice to sit at Starbucks with your friends or loved ones and enjoy the aroma with some chit chat. It's different when you see some perky baristas doing their own way of preparing your coffee. But what annoys me is when you say you want coffee, they'd go "Coffee latte, Cappuccino Au Lait, Cafe Mocha or Americano?" Huh?! What's that again? "With milk, non fat or full cream?"...huh again? "With white sugar, brown sugar, mascuvado or sweetener?" Huh?! Wheew! "Hot or cold?" "With frap or ice-blended coffee?" Waaah.... grabe namang pagka-personalized ng coffee na yan! Just give me a cup of fresh brewed coffee, I don't care if it's Arabica or Robusta! Another grrrrr. Huhuhu...just get me a cup of coffee, lol! Kainis minsan kasi 5 years [joke lang] bago mo mahawakan ang cup of coffee mo. But all in all, we cannot argue how patok this coffee shops today. There are other choices like Figaro or Mocha Blends, and Pancake House also offers their own coffee style with their signature pancakes along.

Btw, not everyone of us knew a lot about people behind Starbucks I think. I've learned about this when I made an early reservation and bought airfare tickets from now a friend Buds Balongkit. One travel adviser/staff is a sister of Miss Mercedes M. Corrales, present CEO & COO of Starbucks Coffee Japan, Ltd. Whoah, ang galing di ba?! Sayang, I'd been there pero di ko pa siya na-meet, if only I had known earlier from Buds...nag-Starbucks pa naman kami sa Nagoya Centrair while passing time, waiting for my flight home...sigh [dapat noon ko pa ito ipinost as promised but been so busy.] Wow, we should be very very proud of her. She's able to build a name by the sweat of her brow...and I can truly say it was a complete break through. A very successful Filipina in the real sense of the word. They carry their first commandment of Business which goes, "Love your customers.", ang ganda di ba? Sana lahat ng business yan ang policy at motto. According to my friend, as of now daw po ay Asia-Pacific na ang post ni ma'am, wow, promotion yun di ba? Mas tumindi pa. Kudos po talaga sa success nyo, unstoppable...good karma and because of sipag at dedication sa work talaga and reason behind!

The first Starbucks location outside North America opened in Tokyo, Japan, in 1996. We all know that Japan is a tea drinker country but still they manage to penetrate the country's strict preference when it comes to food and drink. They chose healthy diet but Japanese are open to such new offer. Not that coffee is not healthy but I think it's otherwise compared to milk that has calcium and other vitamins in it! Sa ngayon, pag di ka nag-Starbucks di ka in.

PS/**Some time in the past, Starbucks stores and products was boycotted because it is alleged that Starbucks sends part of its profits to the Israel Defense Forces, something Starbucks refutes. This allegation is apparently based on a spoof letter published on an anti-Zionist website. But again, we do not know the truth behind this story.

Care for coffee?

Earlier this morning, as I was running to and fro...and driving for my grown up kids to the main gate of the subdivision we're right now have moved in...my amiable new neighbor asked me then if I wanted a fresh cup of coffee, I politely declined and said I was to make a fresh boil water myself for my late coffee time. I just worked the whole day since we just moved in late last night. I took time to relax and read some...when I saw this Java trivia.

"In Arabic lands there is a strict etiquette about drinking coffee. Refusing an offer for coffee is an absolute insult; furthermore, not serving coffee to a visitor is very rude."

Morning coffee at HOLLAND!

Last Dec 29...morning, we were invited to have coffee outside so I rushed down and just wore a jacket and rode the car...syempre nakapagtooothbrush naman ako...LOL!

Went inside the coffee shop named HOLLAND...it was a nice place, real cozy and to my surprise, I only ordered a coffee...voila...they served me a cup of steaming brewed coffee, with buttered toast and small slice of cavendish (banana), oh di ba bongga!!!
Ang sarap ng coffee, and I only noticed that ako lang ang gumamit ng fresh milk...they all had black coffee! Nang uwian na, Mieko again gave us a big togan, I think gaya ito ng ating kundol, am not so sure lang...and some mini pink tomatoes na ubod ng liliit...at masarap sya ha...and more quail eggs and fresh broccoli. She's really a giver just like me...LOL!

Finally, my friend gave the mitten and she's now...off the hook!

I received some text msgs while I was blogging and slurping my coffee, earlier this morning. Mixed emo...happy to know that it has ended after 4 years...and at the same time a bit sad 'coz I knew how much she has loved the guy, I don't know why. But yes...that's great coz it's finally over with my friend and her...I don't know how would I call him, but anyway...there's a lot to celebrate. Everything now is all water under the bridge. I don't think it's a waste of time but at least she has learned something from that relationship. It was doomed right from the off I told her...but she never did listen. And she swore to me that she's now ready to take command of the situation. I know that it will all soon pass out of her mind...everything will be forgotten, I said. She's now turning into music, that's taking her mind off her past troubles. And I'm very happy she finally gave the mitten. I know that she's quite hurting...probably not to move on but to adjust now with the present situation...excruciating I guess...but in time she'll be ok.

She sometimes realized that there's no way her marriage could be turned around. Yet, again the only answer seemed to be in waiting for fate to intervene. She's older now and am sure more au fait with the ways of men...surely she'll learn now. She's old enough to winnow truth from lies, to know what's good and not. I hope too, that now she'll strain her mind and grope back into the depths of her memory and soon she'd ask what good it could do to remember? I feel sorry that I have a special knack for picking the very worst thing to ask at the very worst moment. I know she's still hurting but knowing how resilient she is...she'll bounce back in time.

Pardon me if I veer on adult talk...let's go PG now! OK, for many non-orgasmic women there is a desperate search for the key to unlock the doorway to sexual fulfillment, but definitely not my friend...coz she is not of that kind. More than physical love, she craves for spiritual bond---a soul to soul relationship and the meeting of the minds...of the same wavelength. So then love was developed...according to her, the guy wooed her or I should say for what?! She is a woman who has dared to cut off from her sexual life, yes she is married but her marriage was in disarray when she met the guy. She then allowed herself to celibate just to be faithful to the man she has learned to love. The man who made a promise to protect her, the man who said he'd never leave her...that he would stay forever...sigh

And for you my friend, here's my take...there's no time to sit around pondering the impossibilities of your situation. You need to find answers to save your own life.
The most I think is that you now keep your head above the water.

And...you don't have to keep a stiff upper lip for me...coz there's no virtue in false modesty...my friend! Good luck...
